Happy Wednesday! I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but here in Kentucky it is always crazy. One day, it's warm enough for shorts and t-shirts, the next, it's putting the big winter jacket on again. Yesterday it was storming with tornadoes and in a couple days it is supposed to snow. I am just ready for summertime and the sunshine! Anyways, on with the update...

Our featured post today comes from DroBuddy, who needs help gaining recognition for a site. The site's search engine rankings are doing pretty good but they want to do better in marketing themsleves and getting companies to list on the site. Do you have any ideas?

As far as the remaining posts go, the first has a few questions about launching a new site on existing domain. The second post has a Amazon and affiliate tracking system question. And today's final post needs help with HTA access info and ranking concerns.

Niche Markets With Few Competitors - How Do You Gain Recognition
First, I'd like to say hello and to introduce myself. I'm the Chief Information Officer for Free Internet Company.com, aka FreeNetCo.com, which is the parent company of several sites in refined, niche markets. Currently, my questions are regarding these three websites which are primarily aimed at one audience: Truck Drivers.

Let me elaborate and give you some examples; OTR is a common acronym in the trucking industry which means Over-the-Road... We own both OTR Jobs.com and OTR rookie.com (which was just recently launched), as well as, I Live in a Truck.com (currently under development). The latter is specifically focused on truck drivers who live on the road; go figure.

Launching New Site On Existing Domain

I am currently working on re-doing my website which is currently an 800pg static HTML website; the new site will be over 200,000 pages and will be CMS/Database driven.

Currently I hold #2 rankings for a few major keywords and get 40,000 unique visitors a month.

All page extensions will be lost as the new site launches and besides doing a 301 redirect to take care of this aspect of things what else should I be aware of and prepare for?

Amazon and Affiliate Tracking System

I've just add an advertising using my own picture and linked to an amazon affiliate link, my question is : will it count when someone buy through this link that isn't from amazon rendered link but just the link I've copy when landed after clicking the amazon given banner in my affiliate management?

All amazon affiliate links are not real link anymore as they track number of impression by having a Gif displayed.

You can see how I did add this amazon affiliate link by using a top right curving page that displays the amazon ad as my marketing strategie on my website:W W W. B L O G U E. C A (no spaces between words)

HTA Access Info And Ranking Concerns

I am getting a lot of hits from Countries I do not do business in. I found an HTA access code to stop it. My questions are

1. Where do I install the code?
2. Will this affect my Google or other rankings?

Thank you in advance.
