WebProWorld Members,

Hey everyone! Looks like I will be taking over WebProWorld for a while, hope you all don't mind! A few of you might have seen me around the forum from time to time but this is my first time bringing you the WebProWorld newsletter. Feel free to email with me comments or questions you may have.

Our featured post today comes from link.master, who has a Google ranking issue. Link.Master is working on a site which has two versions, one is .com and another is .nl. He has been doing link building work for the .com version of the site but then rankings dramatically dropped down in google.nl. He wonders if this is a duplicate content issue. Do you know the answer?

As for the remaining posts, the first has a question about back links on Google. The second post has a niche blog dilemma. And today's final post needs help building an "updateable" website.

 Google Ranking Issue
I'm working over a site which has two version one is .com and another is .nl version. I'm doing link building work for .com version of site. When I started link building work site is on 1 page for many keywords but as we go on building links rankings are dramatically got down in google.nl.

Is there any issue of duplicate content since both version display same content?

Presently site shows 224 backlinks on google.nl

Back Links On Google

Does anyone know why Google doesn't give you back link ("link:") results for some websites? When I did the back link search for a website on Google, "link:www.domain.com.," Google didn't provide any results. Here is the message I got: "Your search - link:www.domain.com - did not match any documents."

When I check the list under the Google Webmaster Tools, it lists many websites linking to this particular website. But, none of these websites don't show up on Google when I do a "link:" search.

Niche Blog Dilemmas

Everyone says the best way to build relevant IBL is to blog or create interesting articles which are link bait and attract links. This sounds fine and for a lot of our clients is not a problem but what if you're company and situation really doesn't lend itself to blogging in the global community. For example what would you tell a guy who does CD duplication in Manchester to blog about?

I always recommend that clients get proactive in the online community for their sector but sometimes i find it really hard to guide them through that process. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Help Needed To Build An "Updateable" Website.

If I'm building an approximately 12 page HTML based website and the client wants to be able to update the website independently from their computer, what's the best way to organise this?

I'm using Dreamweaver, and I'm guessing there's another program I can use to combine with this to allow them independent access. They dont need to add pages, but do need to add/delete texts and pictures. It's going to be based in the UK. Any ideas?
