It is a righteous Friday today here at FlashNewz. Oh yes I do believe it is. We do not only have style but we've got substance. Some featured flash sites with all the usual animated goodness is here but the content's to die for. Especially in Aliens vs Predator: Requiem. Allow an aside for a quick review of this festival of asskickery. I've loved every Aliens and Predator movie to date. 6 films of sweet extra terrestrials putting up our frail human carcasses up for wholesale slaughter. Alas with "vs" films they often serve as a cash-in gimmick as I tried tirelessly to prove to myself that the first AVP wasn't. The harsh truth is that's exactly what it was. Now a sequel to a vs. movie had everything against it. Newly released on home video is AVP:R is everything in an Aliens and Predator movie combined. From the music to the alien screeches behind military gunfire, to heat vision and heartbeats it's all there. So check that one out if you're remotely a fan of either. The website too does the film justice with some great animation and fun activities.

Not to take away from the other stylish/substantial sites, the Ducati motors site feature some mouthwatering bikes with some slick transitions. There are certain aspects of this site that just transcend cool. Not to mention the photographic wizardry of Luigi Bussolati. Don't miss it.

On a final note, if you want to learn a thing or two about ActionScript 3.0 Peter Elst has got a podcast for us teaching some tricks of the trade right into your living room. Brajeshwar's got the goods on that.

Brajeshwar Oinam By Brajeshwar Oinam

Here is a recent podcast from Peter Elst on “What’s new in ActionScript 3.0.”

Peter Elst is a certified Flash instructor, Adobe Community Expert, and User Group Manager for the MMUG Belgium. Peter explains what ActionScript 3.0 is capable of and how you can take advantage of it.

Flash has come a long way since the dawn of the unfortunate skip intro phenomena that swept the web in the late 90’s. Especially when it comes to ActionScript things have evolved spectacularly. ActionScript 3.0 is now able to do things never thought possible on the web.

In the Podcast Peter Elst demonstrated exciting new features that are now available to developers, showed inspiring open source projects including several 3D engines, protocol implementations and much more.
