Hey FlashFanz it's freaky Friday here at the office and utter pandemonium. We have gremlins running around deleting client accounts and web pages! Not to mention it's cold enough to stop molecular orbitals. You know in the movies when the villain gets coated in liquid nitrogen and the hero smashes them into a million shards? That almost happened to me this morning. It's that cold here.

Well today I've got some cool flash randomness to check out. The first one is Errol Schwartz design portfolio. He's taken self-promotion to an entirely new level by integrating a 3D flash mini target shooting game. I don't know if you can actually win but it's definitely different. There's also an option to just browse it in a normal mode, which is just as cool to look at.

Next up is a site by Hyundai that promotes their safety awareness as well as their design awareness. The transitions between image and type create a fluid and kinetic experience as they've totally pushed the bar with their typography with their camera work and 3D skills. With my time spent there I don't think I even saw one car but I was still left with a positive impression towards their campaign.

Our last site is for a Latin pop singer that has a fun little space scene that interacts with the mouse cursor. A simple idea but all still pleasing to browse.

Today we've also got Stefan Richter all stoked over Flash Media Server 3. Check out the article to witness all the hullabaloo.

Flash Media Server 3 Is Here!

By Stefan Richter

Adobe have today released Flash Media Server 3.

The server now ships in two editions, the Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3 (FMSS) is ideal if all you want to do is serve up live or on demand video while the Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server 3 (FMIS) gives you access to all features including video recording, server side Shared Objects and more.

FMSS retails at USD $995 while FMIS will set you back USD $4500.

Both editions now provide unlimited bandwidth and connections - thank goodness for that.

If you have pre-ordered the server then you should have received a download email this morning.

Everyone else can download the free 10 connection developer edition from the Adobe website once they update the download page today.

So is FMS3 really as performant as the marketing blurb would have you believe?

I think it may be, as a friend of mine who runs one of my video chat applications just tld me that he currently observing the following figures: 400 users logged on / 13mbit throughout / cpu 5%. Not bad!
